Educational evaluations are the basis for determining eligibility and student needs requiring a specialized understanding of their meaning which is often overwhelming and complex. With the help of experienced experts, this need not be the case.

• Write a summary report of findings

• Share the report, review the findings with you and answer any questions you have

• When appropriate, use the Special Education Decoder System (SEDS) to visualize where test scores fall on the bell curve (link to SEDS description)

• Preparing for the next school meeting

• Creating a list of questions to ask

• Sharing strategies for asking questions in a collaborative manner

• Explaining how to present home observations in a way that team members can easily visualize
